A loan helped purchase of Heifers.

Rose Mary's story

Rose Mary R. G. is a 52-year-old woman. She lives with her husband and son in a Costa Rican community called General Viejo de Pérez Zeledón; this community is located in the Valle del General. Her chief businesses are ranching, farming, and sales of her products. Her sales have grown a great deal and thus have opened up new opportunities for expansion.
Doña Rose Mary has a farm on which she fattens livestock. She says she began ranching with one heifer and has seen her business grow slowly, day by day. She also says she is very proud to be a small businesswoman. She has progressed in many areas, professionally and personally.
Doña Rose Mary is now requesting a small loan of $1,200 (664,000, six hundred sixty-four thousand colones) to buy more heifers. In this way, she will be able to improve and expand her business. She says that thanks to this loan she will be able to have a higher income and to give a better quality of life to her family.
Doña Rose Mary is a customer of the Asociación de Productores El General, one of 100 member organizations of EDESA in Costa Rica. This is her second loan. She emphasizes that thanks to these organizations and their means of securing credit she can devote more time to productive activity.
