Emma M., from the village of Mangidkid, Plaridel, is the 38-year-old leader of a two-member group loan offered by PMPC. Emma, who is married and has four school-aged children, owns and operates a business venture in the agriculture sector raising pigs for sale. Emma has been engaged in her business for over two years, earning approximately 5,000 PHP a month.

In 2008, Emma joined PMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Having fully repaid a previous loan of 10,000 PHP from PMPC that was used to purchase baby livestock to raise and sell in the future, Emma is now requesting a new loan of 7000 PHP to purchase livestock feed and other supplies. This loan will be her third from PMPC, and she plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
