A loan helped to purchase more goods to increase her business.

Fatmata's story

Meet 26-year-old Fatmata from Kandeh town branch. She is a married woman with one child.

Fatmata runs a retail-table business and sells biscuits, chocolate, sweets, cigarettes, milk, cocoa, alcoholic drinks, paste, soap and other items to her customers around the community. She has been in this business for the past 10 years now and works 10 hours per day and 6 days a week. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes.

Fatmata requested this loan from Brac to purchase more biscuits, chocolate, sweets, cigarettes, milk, cocoa, alcoholic drinks, paste, soap and other items to increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her family and to educate her child. In the next 5 years she wants to expand to a big shop. She says thanks and appreciation to Brac and the Kiva community for their support.
