Mangaka is a 38-year-old woman who lives in a two-bedroom house with five other family members, including three children.
Mangaka works as a salon owner but struggles with school fees. She spends most of her energy budget on electricity and paraffin, which costs up to LSL 800 per month. She also spends as much as 2.5 hours per day, gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging.
She says she is very happy because she did not think she would see something that would take her worries away like the ACE1 cookstove and she sees this as her blessing. She goes on to say that she is going to use the money she will save to improve her business and will also to pay school fees for children that she could not afford before because the stove will reduce all those expenses.
Mangaka and the group in this village bought the ACE 1 cookstoves to help them save the money they spend every month on fuel and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free.
The ACE 1 clean cookstove is biomass and solar powered. For more information on the ACE1 cook stove please visit www.africancleanenergy.com and Facebook @African Clean Energy
