Ana Milena A. Jiménez, is a young businesswoman living in Barranquilla with her spouse, who is a driver, and their two daughters ages 4 and 7. She has been in business for more than 3 years, and currently sells mainly sports clothing and footwear for women, men and children. She started her business selling cosmetics and colognes from catalogs, but she missed having her own working capital, and through loans from Mario Santo Domingo Foundation she was able to accumulate it. She has always enjoyed being independent and contributing to the household expenses. Her main clients are around the Las Nieves area, the neighborhood where she lives, workers she meets going to the large businesses. Her first domestic market, where she got her start, was her family, and since she is very friendly, she rapidly obtained additional clients. Currently she is requesting a loan of $675 in order to fill orders already made by her clients for sports footwear and outfits for women, men and children. Her biggest dream is to have a shop and her own home. Her challenge now is to juggle her business along with the childcare and the household work of any responsible mother.
