Nueva Jerusalen Group's story

The Board of Directors for the “Nueva Jerusalen” (New Jerusalem) Communal Bank consists of the following members:

Sra. Jenny is the President. She is a long-time client and a single mother of five children, two of whom are dependents. She buys soybeans in bulk, which she later packages and sells at retail. Jenny has been in this business for ten years. She lives in a house for which has been the caretaker for the past eight years. Through her hard work, Jenny hopes to buy land so that she can later build her own home. She will use the money from her loan to buy soybeans in bulk so that she can package them in large quantities.

Sra. Guadalupe is the Treasurer. She is a long-time client and a single mother of six children, three of whom are dependents. She buys soybeans in bulk, which she later packages and sells at retail. Guadalupe has been in this business for five years. She has been living in a rented house for the past six years. Through her hard work, Guadalupe hopes to buy land so that she can leave an inheritance for her children. She will use the money from her loan to buy soybeans in bulk so that she can package them in large quantities.

Sra. Viviana serves as the Secretary. She is a new client who has been in a common law marriage for three years and has a daughter. Viviana has been selling cosmetics for the past two years. She has been living in a rented house for two years. With the help of her husband, she hopes to soon buy land so that they can build a house and establish a stable family. She will use the money from her loan to buy beauty products that are on sale that she can later sell at regular prices.

All of the members are responsible and dynamic people. Most of them support their families alone. This loan will be used to buy merchandise as well as increase their operating capital. They are grateful to Kiva and Emprender for trusting them by providing this loan.
