Gicela is 34 years old and lives in a rented house with her two children, Anthony (age 15) and Johanna (age 1). For the past two years, she has been providing mobile phone services as a traveling vendor through the streets in her neighborhood. She considers her business to be very profitable because she has four cellular phones that she rents out at very reasonable rates and encounters regular customers who need to make phone calls. Gicela enjoys her job because she is able to work regular hours from 7am until 4pm, which is when she can serve most of the general public and earn the most money without having to neglect her young daughter. She also has the help of her oldest son, who is very mature and hardworking. Together they both work to help pay the rent. As a hardworking woman, Gicela has future plans to open a call center so that her business will be more stable and generate more revenue.
This is her first loan with MFP. Gicela will be sure to make each of her payments on time because she does not want to disappoint the other members of her group who have welcomed her and placed their trust in her. She will use the money to purchase a new cellular phone. Gicela wants to start a street vending business selling candy.
