San Pablo Group's story

The San Pablo (St. Paul) Committee is located in the kilometer 8 Monday Barrio, City of Este. It was formed by Elida Cuellar who contacted her neighbors and friends in the barrio. The committee is composed of 17 active and enterprising women.

The loan is destined for purchasing clothes, drinks, lace, beef, silver jewelry, condiments, fruit and vegetables, shoes, cloth, glue, thread, and corn; in short, relating to the activity of each member.

For example, Mrs. Eligia B. will use her loan to buy all those products related to cosmetics, which is what she sells. She does this in her spare time. Eligia sells by visiting customers in their homes, or in her store. The business helps her considerably with household expenses, especially with food, comments Eligia. She thanks her friends on the committee and at the Fundación Paraguaya (Paraguay Foundation) for their constant help.

This solidarity loan makes it possible for each one of these women to have a daily income and independent work.
