Basilia's story

Basilia G. was born around 1969 and for the past 25 years has lived in the Agla district of Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. Basilia is the mother of three children who are enrolled in school and takes care of an additional child. Basilia lives with her children and her husband, Léon Houeton. As a couple, they work together to meet the needs of the family.

To meet their needs, Basilia sells food supplies via the local distribution network. She started this business 20 years ago. Basilia has repaid her previous ALIDé loan. She is requesting a new loan to prop up her business activities and increase her food supply inventory. In the future, Basilia hopes to buy a plot of land.
