Manuel Napoleon L. M. is 52 years old and in a common law marriage. He has three children, ages 7, 6, and 5.
He is a member of the Communal Bank “San Jose de las Orquideas”, which meets in the community of San Jose de Palmas and is located fifteen minutes away from the city of San Miguel. The majority of the residents of this community are farmers who grow potatoes and corn as their main crops.
Manuel is a farmer himself and grows corn, potatoes, cabbage, and carrots. He buys and sells his products in San Pablo and San Miguel. The most difficult part of his job is not being able to harvest crops because of the weather. As a result, he is not able to earn money and recoup the investment from his crops.
Manuel is requesting a loan to purchase farming supplies such as compost, seeds, urea, and other items. He enjoys living on a farm instead of in the city because there is more freedom. Manuel hopes that his children will become professionals and pursue a good career such as teaching.
