Louise K. was born August 25, 1960 in Allada, in Benin’s Department of the Atlantic. For the past five years she has been living in the Agla neighbourhood of Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. She is married to Bienvenu LATCHOUKPO, a retired customs agent, and is the mother of four children. She also has another child under her care, and only some of the children are still in school. Louise lives with her husband and children, and the couple share household expenses.
To assist her husband, Louise sells a variety of products (corn, couscous, canned tomatoes, soap, rice, etc.) from her home. She gets her supplies from Dantokpa, Benin’s international marketplace. Louise has attended school up to secondary level, but has been in business for almost 20 years.
She has already been granted two previous loans from ALIDé, which were fully repaid. She is now requesting a third loan from ALIDé, to increase her working capital and bolster her business.
