A loan helped to buy potato seeds and fertilizer for her business.

Then's story

Then is 45 years old, married and is the mother of six children. She and her husband are farmers who plant and sell potatoes. They also run another business making and selling palm-sugar, as shown in the picture. She has been running this business for five years.

Then has applied for a 2,000,000 KHR loan through Kiva's field partner Chamroeun to buy potato seeds and fertilizer for her business. Using the loan, she will be able to earn more income to continue her business as well as support her family's living standards. She hopes that she can grow her business and renovate her home.

Her main challenges are more competitors and the fluctuation in the price of goods.

This loan is special because:

It allows farmers to repay when they receive harvest income and gives them access to training.
