Oscar's story

My wife and I both grew up in a small town in the southeast coast of Puerto Rico. We love the beach and the tropical weather of the island. We met at high school and after graduation we both went our separate ways. Both of us got our college degrees and started working in our careers, my wife as an Accountant, and me as a Civil Engineer. After many years we met again and long story short we got married. Because of the economy situation in PR we were forced to leave our country following better job opportunities and better quality of life. We moved to Washington State, USA. A beautiful place, but cold and not too tropical, so it was not easy to adapt to the new reality. We lived in Washington for 6 years. During that period we were searching for other ways of making extra income in addition to our full time jobs. We were preparing ourselves, learning new skills to come back to the island and have more options of making money. I was always inclined to arts like drawing and graphic design, so after doing our research we discovered the art of screen printing. It was a perfect match. We learned the basics of the technic and practiced it for almost two years. My wife's family has had a travel agency for many years, so she has the background of running a business. We tried to find new jobs in Puerto Rico before moving back but we were not lucky. That is when we decided to come back and start our screen printing business and make it our main income source. We aim to build a successful long lasting company and offer job opportunities in different areas of the business.

This loan is special because:

It helps a husband & wife team expand their screen printing business and invest in eco-friendly inks.
