Oliva, whose hand is raised in the photo, is a member of Twehaireyo Group, where members guarantee one another for a loan. She is a single mother with three children and lives in Masindi, Uganda. She is hard-working, dealing in farming and getting additional income from a ladies' beauty saloon. She is involved in the businesses to earn income in order to get basic family needs, and local people are her main customers.
Oliva is challenged by competition and limited capital that hinders future prospects of expanding her farming. She grows food crops like beans, maize, and sweet potatoes. Pests and diseases that attack her crops still remain a challenge. She has asked for a loan to pay labor to help her in weeding, mulching, and applying fertilizers in her garden.
