A loan helped to buy seeds to expand her horticulture farm and use the profits to support her family.

Zipporah's story

Zipporah was raised by poor rural farmers. She had to struggle to meet her basic needs. She vowed that she would change that and work extra hard.

Zipporah is a very hard-working person. Thanks to her daily effort, she has managed to get her family ahead.

She hails from a remote village in the Kerugoya area of Kenya. Her primary sources of income are crops and animal farming. She is content with the farming way of life.

The Kerugoya area is favorable for farming, and Zipporah is seeking a loan to buy seeds so she can reap maximum profits and grow her farming business.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially in the Kerugoya area, is very challenging. However, Zipporah feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva that help enterprising women like her.

Her biggest dream is to be able to support her family by herself.
