A loan helped to buy more wood charcoal to sell.

Ruth's story

This is 25-year-old Ruth. She is a hardworking businesswoman who is living together with her partner and has been blessed with two children. Both of her children are currently attending school while living at home.

She runs a business in which she sells wood charcoal. She has been selling for the past seven years and has had no problem with her business.

She asked for a loan from BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner. She is seeking the loan to buy more wood charcoal to sell and add to her business in order to ensure she meets her customers' demands. Her love for her business continues to grow every day. She enjoys interacting with her customers because it enables her to grow her customer base. Through her profits, she will be able to pay back the loan and improve her family’s standard of living.

Like any loving parent, her dreams are to continue sending her children to school and to become a big businesswoman. She says thanks for your support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
