A loan helped to buy more naranjilla (solanum quitoense), lime, plantain and blackberry seeds, manure and fertilizer.

Jessica Dayanara's story

Jessica is a 25 year old single mother who lives with her mother and her son in the community of Maldonado, a rural part of Tulcán canton. She has been surrounded by countryside since she was young and she learned to do this work with no problems. Being from a low-income household Jessica on completing her primary education started work as day labor.

With a few resources she had gained she started her own tropical fruit crops like blackberries, plantains and limes. Little by little she obtained another income to add to her day labor work.

Jessica wants to boost her planting so she is requesting a loan to buy more naranjilla (solanum quitoense), lime, plantain and blackberry seeds, manure and fertilizer. In doing this she will get more resources to foster a better future for her one year old son.
