A loan helped a member bUYING VEGETABLES TO SELL AND THREAD FOR SEWING BLOUSES.

Siembra Y Cosecha Group's story

Just 5 kilometers from the municipality of Tecpan live 3 married women, from right to left, Lucia C., Trinidad A., and Cristina M.. They had a discussion among themselves and decided on a new work option, to solicit a communal loan. The women average 52 in age and are dedicated to running a daily consumer goods store. They sell vegetables and measures of cloth, and they make decorative native blouses and napkins, large and small. Although their activities differ, their objectives are similar, because they are helping their husbands to reach familiar objectives: sufficient food, an increase in capital and income for the construction of a house, and schooling for their children. They want to take advantage of the fact that they can still work, until they can reach their objectives.
