A loan helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Rose's Group's story

Rose, pictured above, has been a farmer for 20 years, and is now proud to represent her group of 9 farmers in Teso District. She is 42 years old, married and has 4 children.

Rose likes to think of herself as a very friendly person. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2015 and decided to represent her group because she wanted to be more active in her community.

She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has had more profits from each harvest. Rose plans to use the profits from this coming season to send her children to school.

In total, Rose’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate 7.25 acres of land. Given that some members of the group will also be purchasing a solar light, the grope will receive a total of 1 solar light.

In this group: Rose, Geoffrey, Zakayo, Everline, Hellen, Ann, Mary, Christine, Thomas

This loan is special because:
