Tiétié is the one holding the sheep’s tether among the group members. He is 51, married, and the father of nine children, aged 1 to 22, of whom three are in school. His wife raises sheep and does a little work in commerce for the well-being of the family.
Tiétié has been raising sheep for twenty years and gets supplies from the weekly fairs in town. He can earn a projected profit of 25,000 to 30,000 francs per head. From the sale of his livestock, he manages to cope with the nutritional needs of his family and the costs of medical care and schooling for the children.
These days, he owns 4 head of sheep, which he does a lot to maintain with veterinary treatment. He is a generous person with a good reputation in his village. He would like to obtain more loans later in order to increase his livestock business.
