imbisai started gardening as a hobby with a small garden, growing enough vegetables to feed the family. It was only after a while that she realized there was a demand for vegetables in the area. People from far away would travel to Chiweshe for her vegetables. Hence, she commercialized her garden to earn a good income.
Simbisai is thirty nine years old, married, and has six children. Simbisai grows tomatoes and vegetables in her garden. She supplies her goods to the local people at her garden and she also sells them to vendors. The increase in cost of herbicides and fertilizer pushed her to look for additional capital so she came to Thrive Microfinance for a loan with her other three friends and they received financial training and a loan. Her friends are involved in poultry and horticultural businesses.
With her portion of the loan, she restocked tomato seeds, fertilizer, and cabbage seeds. She has plans of adding more types of vegetables to her range of products.
