A loan helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Everlyne's Group's story

Everlyne, pictured above, has been a farmer for 20 years, and is now proud to represent her group of 11 farmers in the Mumias District. She is 40 years old, married, and has 3 children.

Everlyne likes to think of herself as a very hardworking individual. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2017 and decided to represent her group because she wanted to be more active in her community. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has been able to consistently feed her family. Everlyne plans to use the profits from this coming season to save more money for the future.

In total, Everlyne’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate 5.25 acres of land. Given that some members of the group will also be purchasing a solar light with this loan, the group will also receive a total of 9 solar lights.

In this group: Everlyne, Emily, Pamellah, Brigid, Doricas, Josephine, Christine, Yohana, Catherine, Jenipher, Brigid

This loan is special because:

It supports smallholder farmers to purchase seeds and solar lanterns.
