A loan helped purchase cows to help plow rice field and transport rice.

Phun's story

Phun K., 45, is married and lives with her two school-aged children in Takeo Province, Cambodia. K.'s business is selling brooms in the city, earning an income of US $3 per day. She has been in this business since 1998. Her husband sells brooms as well, earning US $3 per day. He travels everywhere in his province to sell his broom products. K. and her family members try to work hard and help each other to ensure a good standard of living for the family. They are seeking to improve their businesses as well as cover their necessary daily expenses. Therefore, K. is requesting a loan of US $1000 from CREDIT, Kiva’s partner. She wants to use the loan to buy cows to plow her rice field and to transport the rice to store at home. This is her first loan from CREDIT. (Her husband is pictured here.)
