Remelyn's story

Remelyn C. is from the village of Salimpuno. She is 23 years old. Remelyn is married and has an infant child. To make a living, Remelyn owns & operates a store where she sells daily use products such as shampoo, soap & toothpaste in the local community. Remelyn has been engaged in her business for over two years and earns approximately 8,000 PHP a month for these activities.

In 2007, Remelyn joined PMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Remelyn has successfully repaid a previous loan from PMPC. Remelyn is requesting a new loan of 55,000 PHP, which will be used to fully pay for a transport vehicle to improve her business. She will also use the loan as additional capital for her mini grocery store. This loan will be the sixth loan taken out by Remelyn from PMPC and the second loan funded by Kiva. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
