A loan helped to invest in raw materials and natural dyes for traditional Peruvian weaving.

Nilda's story

Nilda runs the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco, a center that employs more than 500 artisans in the Cusco region of Peru. For more than 22 years, Nilda has led the Center in its revival of traditional weaving practices and natural dye techniques. Nilda will use a loan of $10,000 to invest in high-quality yarn and natural dye materials that will improve the quality of the business’s woven textiles, improve sales, and increase incomes for local weavers. A larger stock of raw materials will also allow Nilda to fulfill larger purchase orders and continue growing her business.
