Elvira, age 63, is a single mother with five children. She lives with one of her children in the town of San Luis, Santa Bárbara. For eight years, Elvira has been growing coffee and basic grains such as corn and beans. She sells her production to intermediaries in her area.
Elvira wants to invest in her crops. She has decided to apply for a fifth loan with this institution in the amount of 20,000.00 lempiras in order to purchase fertilizers and several bags of soil amendments and to pay for labor for application of inputs. This will help her maintain her crops well and obtain better harvests.
Elvira’s goal is to grow other types of grains and to increase her financial stability.
