A loan helped to invest in work capital to provide maintenance to his farm, purchase fertilizers, and continue expanding his agricultural space.

Mateo Martin's story

Mateo Martin is 36 years old. He has a stable home alongside his spouse and young children. Mateo Martin lives in his own one story home made of rudimentary materials. He was born in the village of Pamaca, and he and his family live in a close knit community with the members of the village. It is located within the Cañaris district, which has running water.

Mateo Martin grows cacao coffee, a job that he has done for 5 years in the village of Pamaca in the Cañaris district. He has experience in the area of growing coffee, and he sells his product in his district to purchasers in the area and surrounding areas.

The loan will be used to invest in work capital to provide maintenance to his farm, purchase fertilizers, and continue expanding his agricultural space. He will also purchase other agricultural supplies that will help him to improve his efficiency, since he hopes that in the coming year the prices of coffee will improve. This investment will help him to improve his income, and therefore improve his quality of life and that of his family.
