Robin's story

I am a cosmetologist, many of my family and friends know me as Jazzi. I graduated from the former Kalamazoo Beauty Academy in 1983. As an adopted child learning of my past, generated some of my motivation to become a cosmetologist. I learned my great-great-grandmother was a cosmetologist along with cousins on both sides. When I discovered my past and present family members were caring for people’s hair, I wanted to do the same for the community I live in. In addition to being a cosmetologist and a hair store owner, I was also involved in entertainment production.

Prior to purchasing The Hair and Beauty Supply, I came to know the owners as a regular shopper. As I continued to shop there, I became more acquainted with the owners and began to know how the business operated. Eventually, they were convinced that I was the right person to purchase their beauty store in 2016. Improvements are now needed to enhance and increase sales as well as to drive traffic online. In order to be very effective in my day to day operations, I hired my son, Leon, who used to be the manager of the cleaning crew at B&W Charters. Over the years, I have grown extensively and I continue to enhance my store vision to fit my client’s needs. I have decided to add an online beauty lounge shopping experience for customers to enhance their beauty trends, to attract more people, business owners, and other ethnic groups. It is my future plan to make my online shop a one-stop shop experience.
