A loan helped to buy vegetable chemicals and a spray pump.

Kathlyn's story

Kathlyn is a 34-year-old woman who is married with four children. She lives with her family in a rural community outside Honiara, capital of Solomon Island.

Kathlyn has a garden where she grows cabbages and vegetables that she can sell at the market to earn a living. She has been in this business for two years.

With her previous loan, Kathlyn was able to purchase gardening tools for her farming business and she was able to meet her family's expenses.

She has requested a new loan to help her pay for vegetable chemicals and spray pump to assist her with her farming activities.

Kathlyn plans to use the profits from her sales to meet her family's expenses and help pay for her children's school fees.

She became a member of SPBD in 2017 to gain access to financial services for her business.
