A loan helped to buy a cultivator to process more efficiently her agricultural land.


Tatiana's story

Tatiana is a 58-year-old farmer from Chirileni village, Ungheni region, Moldova. She is married and has two children. Her unmarried son is the first help for his parents. Her daughter is married and lives in Spain with her family. Tatiana is retired and is engaged in farming with her husband.

Since 1992 Tatiana has cultivated 3,9 hectares of agricultural land on which she grows corn and sunflowers. This land was left by her parents and her sister, who is abroad.

Tatiana worked for 20 years as a caregiver; her husband worked as a tractor driver. She bought her home 30 years ago, but currently lives in her parents' house. Her parents had their own grocery store in 1961, and from it remains the cellars, where Tatiana keeps cereals.

Tatiana had a horse to work the land but because it was difficult she decided to buy a cultivator. This will facilitate her farm work and increase the productivity of the land.
