A loan helped to buy taro roots(seedling), banana tube(seedling), chemicals, a backpack sprayer and chainsaw.

Ulufale's story

Ulufale is a 47-year-old married woman with 5 children. She runs a business selling taro and bananas in her community to earn a living. She has 4 years of experience in this business.

Ulufale works very hard to please her customers with her fresh taro and banana. She thinks she will earn more income if she plants more bananas and taro, but in order to do this Ulufale needs a loan to buy taro roots(seedling), banana tube(seedling), chemicals, a backpack sprayer and chainsaw to help her run the business. She even delivers her products to the flea market by using the bus(transportation).

She comes from a family in which no one works to earn a living, and only her business will help her family needs. Her dream is that one day her family will be at a higher living standard.

She became a member of SPBD in 2016 to seek finance for her business. Ulufale realises that your support will be a big help for her and for her family to develop through financing.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
