A loan helped to buy dressmaking materials.

Gamuchirai's story

Gamuchirai is an 18-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her mother in the Gokwe North in Zimbabwe. She is requesting a Kiva loan to start a dressmaking business. Gamuchirai plans to use the profit she earns to improve her living standards. She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering 2.5 hours weekly as a member of the Camfed alumnae association, CAMA, facilitating classes from Camfed’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build children’s self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.
