A loan helped a member to buy rice seeds and fertilizer for cultivation.

Mari's Group's story

This group is comprised of 11 women. They reside in a village with a strong social network, which led to the foundation of the group in 2016. They all have agriculture as their main businesses. Madame Awa, standing to the far right in the photograph, is the representative for the group. She is 36 years old, married, and the mother of 7 children, including 3 boys.

Madam Awa's primary business is farming. With this loan, she would buy rice seeds to sell to her loyal customers in the market. With the profits, she would be able to pay for the school fees of her children, support the needs of the family, and even save due to her business flourishing.

In this group: Mari, Marième, Maréme, Boidalla, Aidara, Mada, Ndeye Maty, Awa, Aissa, Marame, Nouma
