A loan helped a member with a Kiva loan, Reyna would buy pigs, hens and a variety of threads.

Mujeres Del Campo Group's story

Reyna is a member of the trust bank “Mujeres Del Campo” (Women of the Countryside). She is married and has seven children. She helps her husband in supporting their family by raising and selling chickens as well as weaving traditional Guatemalan blouses. With a Kiva loan, Reyna would buy pigs, hens and a variety of threads.

"Mujeres Del Campo" live in a rural community in the state of Quiche. They are indigenous women who belong to the K’iche language and culture. Together they raise animals to be sold at the local market as well as weave blouses on wooden looms. They have already completed one loan cycles with Kiva and are looking forward to starting another term.
In addition to the loans, these women participated in workshops that teach financial education. They have learned how to properly price their products and the importance of saving their earnings. They also learn about health care and self-esteem.

Mujeres Del Campo would like to thank all of their lenders at Kiva!
