A loan helped to buy more salt and sugar for resale.

John's story

John lives in Hoima, Uganda. He operates a retail shop, mainly selling salt, sugar, cooking oil, and bread, among other items. He does this together with his wife. He also ventured into farming, mostly the growing of cassava and beans. He also deals in motorcycle transport.

He has been in the business for more than 10 years, and he cries of inadequate capital and bad debtors. He wants to expand his business into a wholesale shop. He is requesting a loan to buy more salt and sugar for resale.

The woman in the photo is John's wife, with whom he works together to improve on the standards of their home.
