A loan helped to buy more frozen goods to sell.

Esther's story

Esther is 28 years old. She is a single mother with three children, all of whom are in school and live at home.

She sells frozen goods such as chicken feet, chicken, and fish in a busy marketplace. She started to sell because she wanted to create another source of income to support her children. She learned how to sell by herself and also started the business with her own earnings.

Esther desires to empower her life. She has been a very strong businesswoman for six years now. She sells six days per week. She likes her business because it gives her more profits and provides daily meals for her children.

To maintain her business, Esther applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner. With this loan, she will buy more frozen goods to sell.

In the future, she wants to become a big businesswoman and continue her children's education. She says thanks for your help.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
