A loan helped to buy colored thread, cotton, and sewing needles for making traditional woven cloth.

Santina's story

Santina is a 21-year-old single woman who is modest and hardworking. She has experience and an amazing skill for making “tais”, the traditional woven cloth of East Timor. Santina is able to make a living from her weaving shop, which she has been operating for many years now. Her business is in a location that is easy to find, so many people approach her every day to buy her woven products. Running her business has made Santina become independent because she can be responsible for herself and also support her family’s everyday needs.

She is requesting a loan of $500 from KIF to improve her weaving shop. Santina plans to use the loan to buy additional supplies such as colored thread, cotton, and sewing needles. She hopes to expand her business in the future and wants to thank the lenders for this opportunity.
