Tibenda's story

Tibenda is requesting a loan to buy manure to apply on his tea plantation. He was born in the year 1986 and he is married with three children. Two are attending school in Kyenjojo, Uganda.

Tibenda ventured into tea growing alongside lorry driving to supplement his income. He says the acidity of the soils in the area that support tea growing inspired him to start the business, for he hopes to construct a commercial house for rentals. However, he says delays in payments by the factory and other tea buyers is the major challenge he faces in the business.
