Kelly's story

I was born and raised in Lowell MA and earned my Culinary Arts degree from Johnson & Wales University in Providence RI. After bouncing around the country working in restaurants and natural food grocery markets I met my husband Scott. We relocated
together to Portland ME to ride bikes and live in the center of Maine’s amazing local food movement. We eventually settled in Freeport ME and had our first daughter in 2013.

For many years Scott and I had discussed bringing back one of our favorite nostalgic childhood treats, small batch potato chips. We couldn’t believe they were so hard to find in Maine with potatoes being the top crop! Potato chips became our someday dream. In 2015, we were living the common American story of working full time jobs on opposite shifts to care for our daughter. What we wanted most was to find a way to
enjoy her company together and to eat dinner as a family as often as possible. Taking charge of our situation with Scott’s blessing and overwhelming support I quit my full time job to build Vintage Maine Kitchen. Someday was here!

We’re now three years into a booming chip business and enjoying dinner with our TWO
little girls every night!
