A loan helped to expand her business.

Chindele's story

Chindele is a 22-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her two children and two other dependents in Kalabo District in Zambia. She grows and sells a variety of flowers and rugs. Chindele is requesting a Kiva loan to expand her business. She plans to use the profits she earns to help pay school fees for her siblings.

To pay off the ‘social interest’ on her loan, Chindele will be volunteering three hours per week as a Business Guide. In her role, she will teach local women how to become successful entrepreneurs in sessions on developing their business acumen and share lessons she learned from operating her own business.

This loan is special because:

It is a 0% interest loan for young women with new businesses.
