A loan helped to buy stocks of drinks, and corn, meat, oil, cassava, plantain, etc., for her food business.

Elizabeth's story

Forty-six-year-old Elizabeth is the mother of two children. She lives in Nsawam, in the Eastern Region of Ghana, with her family – husband and children.

Elizabeth runs a restaurant in her community. As she opens throughout most times of the day, her customers walk in for their breakfast, lunch and dinner. She sells various kinds of local dishes made from corn, cassava, rice, plantain and other staples. In addition to the food, she sells drinks. She has been in this business for the past four years.

Elizabeth is requesting a loan to help her purchase stocks of food ingredients - corn, meat, oil, cassava, and plantain, among others – for the preparation of the dishes she sells.

She is saving her profits to open other outlets. She says thank you in advance to the Kiva community for their support.
