A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and seed to enable a single mom to grow more vegetables and use the profits from the business to pay tuition fees for her children.

Elizabeth's story

This is Elizabeth, a single mother with a beautiful smile; she is pictured in her simple house. Out of financial necessity, she started farming 5 years ago. Elizabeth is from the Thika area of Kenya, near the famous Mount Kenya. Thika is always referred to as the land of pineapples.

Over the years, she has gathered much experience and is considered among the best farmers in her village. Her primary sources of income have been vegetables, milk, poultry, and crops. Although she makes a profit from farming, she is not comfortable and has always wanted to increase her income by planting, harvesting, and selling more food crops. That is why she is seeking this loan: to buy farm inputs such as seeds to improve her vegetable farm.

Kenya's Thika area, one of the country's most populated regions, has a high demand for food. By adding more food crops to her farming activities, Elizabeth could increase her profits and satisfy the demand. Elizabeth believes that this loan will be very helpful and that she will be able to satisfy the demand for food. She also believes that the extra income she earns will enable a change in her life and increase her business. Increased profits will allow Elizabeth to repay this loan and secure the future of her school-going children.

Be inspired this second half of 2018 and lend to keep her beautiful smile!
