Mabinty's Best Female Farmers Group's story

Mabinty S (first on the left), featured borrower of Mabinty's Best Female Farmers, is a master farmer in Makennie village and has a large family of 12. She is a strong leader in the community and regularly organizes women's activities.

Despite being a seasoned farmer, she lost her business during the Ebola crisis, but now refuses to give up despite loosing a lifetime of work. As a result she has organized a large group of other women who similarly had prospered before the crisis, lost everything but now will not give up. All members are currently trapped in a cycle of subsistence and take extremely high-interest loans for poor quality inputs during planting time. A no-interest Kiva loan will therefore enable this group of determined women to get back on their feet and back in business.

In this group: Mabinty, Mamusu, Saffie, Kadiatu, Fatmata, Mabinty, Saffie , Marie, Mabinty, Rugiatu
