A loan helped a member to add beehives and buy more dryers.

Choice Group's story

Barbra, who resides in Glenview, Harare, is a serious cross-border trader and a well-known home-based tailor who specializes in selling seat covers, bed covers and curtains.

She is age 43 with three dependents who are currently going to school. Her husband is a truck driver, and their combined income sustains the family.

Barbra has a domestic machine that she uses to produce her products. She then takes them to Zambia, where she spends 10 days walking around, selling. On her way back to Zimbabwe, she buys clothes that she sells to local individuals back home.

What's more, Barbra has started honey and fruit drying projects as a way of diversifying her businesses.

Barbra used her portion of the loan to add beehives and buy more dryers. This will help her to harvest more honey, since the demand has increased due to its health advantages.
