María is a farmer with a good sense of humor and a tremendous vision. She says that she inherited her passion for working in the fields from her parents. When she was a young woman, María’s parents taught her how to work the land. Her farm measures 14.08 hectares, but only 4.2 hectares are designated for planting and harvesting coffee that has FLO, UTZ, and CAFE Practices certification.
María lives her husband and children in the remote community of Pantasma, which is in the north central region of Nicaragua. She inherited her farm where she cultivates coffee of export quality and has excellent productivity. As part of the annual improvements for her farm, she will implement this year a nutritional improvement plan for her coffee plants. For this reason, she is requesting a loan in order to buy the necessary agro-supplies and pay for labor in order carry out her plan.
This is the ninth loan she has received from PAC. Her previous loans were repaid on time. In the photo, María appears with her husband.
