A loan helped to expand her handloom business to sell more hand-woven saris.

Angura's story

Angura is a 48-year-old married woman residing in the Burdwan district, West Bengal. She is engaged, along with her husband, in a handloom business. They collect raw thread from the market, make the thread into the finished material, fit the thread in the tana (a part of the handloom machine), and weave saris. She has a household size of two and a monthly income of INR 6,500.

She intends to expand her business; hence, she has applied for a loan amount of INR 25,000 from one of Milaap's field partners, Gram Bikash Kendra. With the loan amount, she can weave more stock of saris of different types and sell them in the local market. This will help her to support her husband to make and sell more saris in the local market.

She and her family will be thankful to their lenders.
