A loan helped to purchase cigarettes, assorted drinks and provisions to expand her business.

Musu's story

Meet Musu, a 48-year-old woman from Kissy bye area in Sierra Leone. She is widowed with 3 children. In 1999, she established her provisions business to create a means of survival. She works at the business from 8:00 am until 5:30 pm, 6 days per week. She says that the main challenge to her business is price inflation.

Musu requires a loan in order to purchase cigarettes, assorted drinks and provisions to expand her business.

She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to educate her children and increase her business.

Seemingly distinct businesses are often mixed in Sierra Leone, the idea being that a customer will come to purchase one thing but will leave having purchased another.

In the future, Musu plans to expand her business more than even. She thanks you for your support.
