Nenneh (first on the left, in the photo), is the featured borrower of Nenneh's Female Farmers Group. She is a Master Farmer in Makennie village, and she has a large family of 12 members. She is a strong leader in the community, and regularly organizes women's farming activities.
She is a seasoned farmer who lost her business during the Ebola crisis. She also lost several extended family members. Despite this, she refuses to give up, and she has organised a large group of other women in Makennie who similarly had prospered before the crisis, lost everything, and now refuse to give up. All members are currently trapped in a cycle of subsistence, taking extremely high-interest loans for poor quality inputs during planting time. A no-interest Kiva loan will therefore enable this group of determined women to get back on their feet and back in business.
