A loan helped to buy land to plant bananas and rear goats.

Hope's story

Hope is a married woman wih five children and all attend school.

She is a prominent farmer in Sembabule district majoring in banana growing. While growing up, Hope helped out her parents at the family farm which equipped her with farming skills. Since Hope did not go far with formal education, farming was only business she could do. She started rearing goats and growing bananas on a small piece of land which she inherited from her father.

When she sold her first produce, she used the profits to buy more goats. She again sold the goats to the market which yielded in more profits. Hope managed to buy the land after realizing that hiring was expensive in the long run. The market for goats grows everyday and this has created high demand in the area.

Hope has therefore applied for a loan of 5,000,000 UGX from UGAFODE to buy land on which she plans to rear goats and plant bananas on a large scale.

She is hopeful that this will increase her supply which will increase her income. Hope is truly grateful for the financial support that will transform her financially.
