Oretha's story

Meet 43-year-old Oretha! She is married with five children. All of her children live at home and are currently in school.

Oretha sells cooked food. Though she went to school only up to second grade, she learned the trade from her mother and started her business with her own savings. She has operated this business for the past 12 years and works 10 hours each day. She has had no problem with her business and describes herself as a hard-working businesswoman. To increase her business, Oretha asked for a loan from BRAC Liberia. She will use the loan to buy ingredients that will be used to prepare her cooked food, increasing her sales and profits.

Oretha likes her business because sales are fast and bring lots of profits. In the future she would to build a house.
